This District Council had just lost their Commercial Director and was looking for a flexible resource that could 'own' their commercial development work stream and see a number of projects through to a conclusion.

Having gained Member approval to begin setting up a commercial infrastructure, this authority found itself without anyone with the right skills or the time to deliver a set of concrete commercial outcomes. The authority had a number of potential commercial development projects under consideration and needed to decide which to implement and how to set up the governance structures required to ensure commercial freedom was balanced with appropriate overview and scrutiny.

CGT Consulting have supported this authority to incorporate a holding company and have ensured that the Board membership and governance arrangements reflect its status as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Council.

In addition, we have led two complex procurement exercises to identify partners in one joint venture and one commercial partnership. We have  incorporated the companies for these two businesses and, again, have supported the authority to ensure that the right governance arrangements are in place.
